Antiepileptic medications (AEDs)

Some medications treat generalized seizures, some treat partial seizures and some are used for both types of seizures. About 80% of children with epilepsy will respond to antiepileptic medications. AEDs can have side effects including lethargy, cognitive (mental) slowing, behavioral changes and rashes.
