Department of Pediatrics

The divisions of the Department of Pediatrics offer many opportunities for those seeking to continue post-residency education toward an academic/subspecialty career, including eleven ACGME-accredited fellowship programs. Department of Surgery

Most divisions in the Department of Surgery at Children’s Memorial Hospital offer fellowships in pediatric surgical subspecialties. As the pediatric training center for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, we offer several opportunities for those seeking to continue post-residency education toward an academic/subspecialty career, including several ACGME-accredited fellowships.

  • The Division of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery offers an ACGME-accredited fellowship in congenital cardiac surgery. For more information, please contact the division office at 773.880.4378.
  • The Division of Neurosurgery offers a one-year fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery through Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The program is accredited by the American Council for Pediatric Neurological Surgery. Find more information here.
  • The Division of Pediatric Surgery offers surgical fellowships in both pediatric surgery and pediatric surgery critical care. Both are ACGME accredited and administered through Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Find more information on the links indicated.
  • The Division of Ophthalmology offers a one-year fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. Find more information here.

  • The Division of Otolaryngology offers two fellowships in pediatric otolaryngology each year. ACGME accreditation is anticipated by July 2011. Find more information here.
  • The Division of Transplant Surgery offers a fellowship in pediatric transplant surgery through Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Find more information here.
  • The Division of Urology offers a two-year fellowship in pediatric urology. The first year is dedicated to research and the second is clinical. The program is fully accredited by the ACGME and is administered through Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Find more information here.

Department of Anesthesiology

This fellowship is an individually designed mixture of pediatric clinical, academic, and research anesthesiology at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Find more information here.

Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The two-year residency (fellowship) program in child and adolescent psychiatry follows three or four years of general psychiatry residency training. Find more information here.
