Children's Community Connect
Children’s Memorial is pleased to offer the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management system through a service called Children’s Community Connect. Epic is one of the most highly regarded EHR systems available in the healthcare industry today. Children’s Memorial, in collaboration with our community-based physicians, is tailoring Epic to be optimized for use specifically in ambulatory pediatric practices.
Children’s Community Connect is offered to community-based physicians on the Children’s Memorial medical staff. This offering is a fully integrated EHR which will provide practitioners instant access to a comprehensive range of a patient’s clinical history including inpatient and outpatient records, diagnostic test results and specialty consults. Sharing an integrated EHR system enhances quality and coordination of care by creating a virtual connection between pediatricians, specialists, hospital and patients. As a result of federal regulations which permit hospitals to subsidize the cost of certain components of EHR technology, we are able to offer Children’s Community Connect at a substantial discount, offsetting a majority of the costs that a practice would normally incur implementing a robust pediatric-specific EHR system.
