Ronald McDonald House Moving to Streeterville

The Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana plan to build a new Ronald McDonald House on a recently purchased parcel of land at 211 E. Grand, more than quadrupling the size of its existing facility in Lincoln Park. The new RMH will expand its capacity from 21 to 90 rooms and will open in 2012 in conjunction with the opening of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

For 31 years the Ronald McDonald House in Lincoln Park has provided a “home away from home” for more than 25,000 families with children at Children’s Memorial. Children's Memorial will continue this longstanding collaboration in Streeterville and will be working with the Ronald McDonald House to manage nine bedrooms at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago for families with the most medically fragile children.

In addition to providing housing to families with children treated at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, the new Ronald McDonald House will serve families from the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Prentice Women’s Hospital.
