Children's Memorial named a 100 Best Company by Working Mother magazine

Working Mother magazine as
one of the 2011 Working Mother 100 Best Companies for its dedication to family-friendly benefits. This is the 6
th time Children’s Memorial has been selected for this honor.
“What separates us from other organizations is how we have been involving staff at all levels in the planning of our new hospital, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago,” said Robert Powell, Human Resources Chief. “In addition, we continue to help employees meet their work/life needs.”
Other areas in which Children’s Memorial excelled included back-up family care, its on-site MBA program and its overall benefits program.
Companies filled out an extensive application with more than 600 questions on workforce, compensation, child care, flexibility programs, leave policies and more. It also checked the usage, availability and tracking of programs as well as the accountability of managers who oversee them. Eight areas were measured and scored: workforce profile, benefits, child care, women’s issues and advancement, flexibility, time off and leaves, work-life programs, and company culture.

Children's Memorial is one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country according to
U.S.News & World Report. In June of 2012, the hospital will be opening a new facility,
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago in downtown Chicago on the campus of its medical partner,
Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
