Living Green in Lincoln Park

After successful completion of the "Year of the Child" project, a brainstorm session was held to come up with ideas for a new project. From that brainstorm came the direction to create a project which addresses the environment and/or math and science education.

The fourth project has been named Living Green in Lincoln Park. The goal of Living Green in Lincoln Park is to provide education and raise awareness centered on the new four Rs; Rethink, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, through a four-series speakers’ forum to occur throughout 2010 in Lincoln Park. The speakers’ forum information will be reinforced through an online reference guide and engagement by the community in activities that raise awareness of the project and green resources.

The first event will focus on the business community and is scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2010. The second event will focus on the neighborhood community and is scheduled for the second quarter of 2010. The third event will focus on schools and institutions and is scheduled for the third quarter of 2010. A final wrap-up event will be planned in the last quarter of 2010.

If you are interested in becoming a member or have any questions for the community-wide forum, please contact Ken Labok at 773.880.6851 or email him at klabok@childrensmemorial.org.
