The mission of Children's Memorial Research Center is to generate new knowledge leading to advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases that affect the development of children through adolescence as well as adult disorders that derive from them. Our multidisciplinary teams of physicians, scientists, technicians, nurses and trainees are committed to making discoveries that will improve the lives of children and their families.

In forging relationships and forming partnerships with others, the research center is able to both gain and share in the knowledge of medical research and, in the process, encourage a collective exploration whose depth of resources enhances the promise of its rewards.

From the beginning, Children's Memorial Research Center has followed a carefully designed plan to develop expertise in the science of pediatric disease and normal and abnormal development. As another example of its commitment to exploration through collaboration, the research center's work is organized around seven interdisciplinary research programs set forth in the new strategic plan. By encouraging a synergy of ideas among investigators in various disciplines, the research center continues to discover new ways to develop medical advances that can better treat sick children wherever they may be.
