Intense education

  • We are the pediatric training center of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, providing residencies in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery. Our highly skilled faculty, comprehensive clinical services, and innovative research programs all contribute to an exceptional training environment, demonstrating our commitment to continued excellence in pediatric medicine.
  • Each year, the Department of Pediatrics trains approximately 200 physicians. Almost half are pediatric residents, and the remainder are fellows in various pediatric sub-specialties including cardiology, hematology/oncology and neonatology. The department ranked 17th nationally in the 2009 U.S.News & World Report’s "Best Medical Schools Specialty Rankings for Pediatrics."
  • As the pediatric surgery training center of Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, our Department of Surgery provides formal resident education in each of its ten divisions. Our surgeons also train rotating residents from Rush University, the University of Illinois, and the University of Chicago. In addition, we provide subspecialty programs approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in Pediatric General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, Congenital Cardiac Surgery, and Urology through the Feinberg School of Medicine.
