This course is the 17th in a series of timely, one-day symposia for
healthcare providers interested in learning about the latest pediatric
treatments. The structure of this program remains the same with brief, practical
hints related to several topics as well as subspecialty issues confronting you
in your practice. For this installment, we present lectures on influenza,
chronic diarrhea and malabsorption, new drugs of abuse and neurofibromatosis 1
in childhood.
At the end of this conference, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the epidemiology of H1N1 and the seasonal flu.
- List the three most common etiologies for chronic diarrhea.
- Describe clinical presentations for drugs of abuse and list two new drugs
of abuse.
- List the clinical criteria for a diagnosis of NF1 and recognize the
important issues for the primary care of patients with NF1.
