Pediatricians and other healthcare providers often encounter questions
regarding autism spectrum disorders. This year’s conference is a sequel to last
year’s presentation. A panel of experts will discuss topics such as screening,
diagnosis, medical workup, associated medical, developmental and behavioral
conditions, treatment, advocacy and adolescent issues. The goal of this one-day
conference is to update professionals on the latest findings, approaches and
techniques in the care of children and adolescents with autism spectrum
disorders.
At the end of this conference, participants will be able to:
- Identify children with autism spectrum disorders in their practice.
- Discuss common dilemmas in diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders.
- Address common medical issues of children, including adolescents with
autism spectrum disorders.
- Recommend effective medical, developmental, behavioral and educational
interventions for children on the autism spectrum and identify appropriate
community-based resources.
