The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Children's Memorial Hospital has one of the largest surgical case loads in North America, performing approximately 1,000 cases each year. For example, since January 1981 we have diagnosed and treated more than 3,00o pediatric brain tumors.
The fame of the division and its leadership have attracted numerous international scholars to Children's Memorial who have since gone on to advance pediatric neurosurgery in their respective countries. More than ten percent of the certified pediatric neurosurgeons in the United States have been trained at Children's Memorial. Pediatric neurosurgeons from Japan, China, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Africa, Canada, Mexico, India, Costa Rica, Argentina, and Venezuela have also been trained at Children's Memorial Hospital.
