Program for high-fidelity patient simulation

view of physicians in lab

Medical simulation is a valuable tool for education, particularly for critical incidents.

The KidSTAR Medical Education Program was founded in 2005 within the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The program's goal is to continue to expand an active medical simulation program at Children's Memorial Hospital targeting a variety of learners. We view medical simulation as a valuable tool for education, particularly for critical incidents — rare, high-acuity events.

KidSTAR is based in a 850-square-foot dedicated simulation center in the main hospital building, making Children's Memorial one of a handful of pediatric hospitals nationwide with this type of advanced training resource on-site.  In addition, KidSTAR supports in-situ simulation in the Emergency Department and other clinical areas.

For  more information about KidSTAR, please see our information on the Feinberg School of Medicine website.
