CCPA Purchasing Partners, L.P. is a group purchasing organization that negotiates competitive discounts on products and services on behalf of its physician members.  CCPA Purchasing Partners was formed in 1999 in response to the rising cost of vaccines for primary care physicians in the community.  Because community-based physicians were not eligible to access national group purchasing agreements, Children’s Community Physicians Association (the pediatric IPA affiliated with Children’s Memorial Hospital) decided to form a limited partnership that offers discounts on products and services that are commonly used among primary care physicians.

As the vaccine landscape changed to include more adult vaccines, CCPA Purchasing Partners expanded its membership to include physicians of all specialties.  CCPA Purchasing Partners recently added a non-equity membership class to accommodate physicians outside of Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana who are ineligible for the partnership.  This new “associate member” status affords physicians across the country access to top-tier pricing with vaccine and other vendors without having ownership in the partnership.
